KKIA Ready To Receive More Passengers During Festive Seasons

KOTA KINABALU, Dec 8 (Bernama) -- The Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) is getting ready to receive the presence of more passengers during the Christmas and New Year holiday seasons.
Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) general manager Mohd Suhaimi Abdul Mubin said the number of passengers at the KKIA was expected to increase by between 10 and 15 per cent during the festive season and the new year this time, particularly during the third week of this month until the first week of 2017.
"The KKIA now handles 180 flights daily with the average number of passengers totalling between 18,000 up to 20,000 per day and now we are preparing to accept more passengers.
"We will cooperate closely with all airlines, to ensure the comfort of passengers especially during the festive holidays and the New Year. All preparations have been made to ensure the smooth operation of the airport and the the passengers are comfortable," he said when interviewed by Bernama, here today.
He also reminded members of the public to always check the details of their flight with their respective airline to avoid any problem, besides arriving at the airport earlier before departure.
