Airbus, Vietnam Airlines Provide Transport Of Medical Equipment

HANOI, March 16 (Bernama) - The Airbus Foundation and national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines jointly have flown 31 kidney dialysis machines and medical equipment to Hanoi Nephorology Hospital, Vietnam News Agency (VNA).

The batch of medical equipment was transported by plane A350 XWB which landed at Noi Bai International Airport on Thursday. This is the seventh new aircraft handed over to Vietnam Airlines by Airbus.

The equipment was donated by Professor Jean J.Conte of Midi-Pyrenees Sante Universitaire Purpan Health Organisation in Toulouse, France.

Since 1990, 307 kidney dialysis machines and 1,500 books along with numerous medical equipment have been delivered by Airbus to Vietnam, supporting operations of three kidney dialysis centres and benefiting nearly 1,000 patients.

Professor Jean J.Conte, who is an Honorary President of Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse, France and honorary citizen of Hanoi, has assisted research activities and patients in Vietnam for many years.
