SEPANG, April 6 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) and AirAsia Bhd will review opportunities to enhance strategic cooperation based on their respective strengths for mutual benefit and interest.
AirAsia Executive Chairman Datuk Kamarudin Meranun said AirAsia, as a lifestyle concept company, would welcome collaboration efforts with Bernama as it would have positive effects, particularly in the form of promotion for both parties.
"The type of cooperation will be discussed in detail later. Follow up meetings will be arranged between the two parties after this," he said after receiving Bernama delegation led by the agency's Editor-in-Chief Datuk Zakaria Abdul Wahab to AirAsia's RedQ headquarters here today.
Kamaruddin said Bernama would provide comprehensive media platforms for the partnership with the airline that include a television network.
"Follow-up discussion between Bernama and AirAsia will recognise the most appropriate collaboration to produce a win-win situation for both sides," he said.
Commenting on his visit to RedQ, Zakaria said he was impressed with the concept of the headquarters featuring a modern and relaxing atmosphere similar to Google headquarters in the United States.
Among members of the Bernama delegation today were Economic News Service editor Siti Hawa Othman; International News Services editor Nor Faridah Abdul Rashid; Bernama News Channel's General and Economic Desk Assignment editor Tengku Noor Shamsiah Tengku Abdullah.
Meanwhile, AirAsia chief executive officer Aireen Omar and AirAsia X Bhd chief executive officer Benyamin Ismail were also present at the session.
