KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 25 (Bernama) -- Low-cost carrier, AirAsia, has partnered with mobile app, WorldKoins, to allow travellers to convert leftover ringgit into WorldKoins credits that can be used to shop at various participating merchants.
In a joint statement today, AirAsia and WorldKoins said, the credits could be used to shop at various participating merchants such as Lazada, Grab, Skype, iTunes, Google Play, Facebook, transfer to PayPal or even donate to selected charity organisations.
The service would be offered to all travellers flying on board selected flights from Kuala Lumpur, it said.
WorldKoins Co-Founder, Martijn Langhout, said the app would offer travellers to make full use of leftover currency, especially when they were in small amounts.
"We are pleased to partner with AirAsia on this six-month pilot programme which ends in April next year, to allow their travellers on board the flights to exchange their ringgit-denominated leftover monies into credits directly through on board smartphones," he said.
AirAsia Group Chief Commercial Officer, Siegtraund Teh, said the partnership would further strengthen the airline's offerings and ensure continuous seamless travel experience for travellers as they could maximise their unspent currency.
She hoped this service would be made available in all flights after reviewing the pilot stage.
