KUALA LUMPUR, April 26 (Bernama) -- Turkish Airlines celebrated its fifth year operating at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) by treating 350 passengers who flew to Istanbul yesterday evening with sweet delights.
In a joint statement, Turkish Airlines and Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) said when the airline first started flying into KLIA, it offered a thrice weekly service and barely a year after that, it started offering daily flights.
Turkish Airlines Country Manager Muhammed Hamza Arslan said most of its passengers were business and leisure travellers to Malaysia, which is seen as one of the gateways to Asia.
"MAHB has been a great partner and we look forward to many more years connecting people to and from Kuala Lumpur," he added.
MAHB Managing Director Datuk Badlisham Ghazali said Turkish Airlines played a vital role in enhancing the connecting routes that KLIA offered and the airports operator was very thankful that it chose to retain Kuala Lumpur as one of its global destinations.
He said as Turkish Airlines' global destination network was bigger than any other airline, it would greatly benefit passengers from Kuala Lumpur in terms of connectivity to other countries through Istanbul.
