KUALA LUMPUR, March 5 (Bernama) -- MASholidays is targeting 600 pilgrims to use its "Lambaian Kaabah Umrah & Ziarah" packages this season through 11 departures until June and another five departures during Ramadan.

The target was based on last year's high demand, said the travel arm of Malaysia Airlines in a statement today.

Recently, the company sent its first group of 50 pilgrims to Madinah on a special chartered flight operated by Malaysia Airlines.

MASholidays' Umrah product covers full board umrah and ziarah which includes flight tickets, visa arrangements, airport transfers and tours, accommodation, tour guides (mutawwif) and meals as per itinerary.

Two packages are offered this year, namely 12 days 10 nights with direct flights to Jeddah with prices start from RM5,600 and 14 days 12 nights with direct flights to Madinah from RM5,800.

"We have been offering umrah products since 1990 under the Lambaian Kaabah umbrella.

"With our proven track record in providing comprehensive, reliable and comfortable ground arrangements, our customers will be assured of a high quality umrah and ziarah experience," MASholidays Senior Manager Fadhilah Mustaffa said.

All travel will be on Malaysia Airlines chartered flights operated using B747-400 and a guarantee of 30kgs free baggage allowance with 10 litres of Air Zam Zam.

A complimentary "Umrah course" will also be provided at its Academy in Kelana Jaya, Selangor.

These products will also be promoted at the forthcoming MATTA Fair Kuala Lumpur at PWTC.
