Malindo plane overruns runway at Nepal airport

KUALA LUMPUR, April 20 (Bernama)-- A Kuala Lumpur-boundMalindo Air aircraft overran the runway at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu onThursday night, according to the airline.

It said in a statement today that all the 132 passengers and crew aboard Flight OD181were evacuated safely and no injuries were reported.

"Assistance has been rendered to the affected passengers, wherein meals and accommodationwere providedas well as arrangements to the next available flight," it said.

The airline said that with safety as its utmost priority,it tookthe incident very seriously whereby an investigation and measures to rectify the situation hadimmediately been taken.

"The airline deeply regrets any inconvenience caused to the passengers who were affected by the incident," the Malaysiancarrier said.
